On the eve of 10/01/09, I attended a Health Care Forum in Winnoski with about 10 state legislatures. It was planned, orchestrated, and overwhelmingly biased. 3 of us who wanted to get a word in, were not allowed to speak and left the meeting. A few others stayed behind to address the bias legislatures. A quick summary of tonights events would be as follows. A panel of socialist representatives from the state of Vermont, and a local organization called Vermont Workers, led a forum with a room full of mostly college age people. They joked and made fun of our current governor, while expressing extreme pleasure about a Universal Health Care system, and making it sound as though a new day were dawning.
It was shameful and very telling. In a nutshell, our current broken system is because of evil insurance companies taking advantage of poor souls who are treated as 3rd class citizens. If we could just get rid of these evil money hungry capitalistic institutions, we would all breath a sigh of relief. Our chains of oppression would be broken. All under the disguise of socialism. You can catch more bees with honey. Well, it was sure dripping tonight!
If the truth be told, 40% of the current physicians said they'd quit or retire under government run health care. With 40 million plus added into the daily healthcare system, the care would be rationed for obvious reasons. The quality would go down. The price would go up. If you decide not to get insured, you will be fined $1900, or more, with a possibility of owing the IRS up to $25,000. If you don't pay you can go to jail for a year.
The elderly will suffer since the first rationing will be with them. They are old and will die soon anyway. Cancer patients will have to wait for treatment while the cancer is growing. You can't choose your doctor. You can't choose the treatment you and your doctor think would be best. All decisions will be based on cost, the type of illness and age I don't know about you, but may I suggest that government run health care is a human violation?
Freedom is a human right!
People please, wake up!
